Week 2 TNF Targets

Is there anything better than two of the best offenses squaring off this early in the season? The answer is unequivocally no. This matchup between the Chiefs and Chargers features arguably two of the top five quarterbacks and offenses in the NFL and we want a piece of it for season long fantasy and daily fantasy.

This game has the highest implied point total on the week at 54. Kansas City scored 44 points in week one and Patrick Mahomes threw for five touchdown passes to a receiver group that looked vastly different than it did just a season ago. There appeared to be no learning curve with this new cast. When these two teams meet, they score points. In two matchups last season, a combined 54 points and 62 points were scored and there is little reason to believe 2022 will be any different.

I like both quarterbacks, but Mahomes gets the edge given that his top pass catcher (Travis Kelce) is at full strength while Keenan Allen may be sidelined or hampered with his hamstring injury. I also like Mike Williams over JuJu Smith-Schuster. If Keenan Allen misses this game (they’re on a short week), Williams should slot in as Herbert’s top receiving option in what figures to be a pass heavy game. Williams played on 92% of the Charger's plays in week one, but only received a 13% target share. That number will certainly increase if Keenan Allen misses time or is limited in week two.

TopProp play: Patrick Mahomes > Justin Herbert

TopProp play: Mike Williams > JuJu Smith-Schuster
