While it’s fantasy championship week for some, it’s another fun prop betting week for all of us. Week 17 is here and we’re gifted America’s Team on Thursday night football.
Excuse me if I don’t seem all that excited to watch my least favorite team play against a Titans squad that is treating this as a preseason game. Tennessee has already ruled out eight players including QB Ryan Tannehill. This one could get ugly quickly. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t win some cash-playing props!
Let’s look at this QB matchup between Malik Willis (+7.5 bonus) vs Dak Prescott.
Now the way to beat the Titans is through the air. Entering the week they rank as the third-best matchup for opposing quarterbacks. I expect the Cowboys to target this Titans secondary early and often.
Dak is coming off his best game of the season and should continue to target CeeDee Lamb out of the slot for big gains.
The Titans counter with rookie Malik Willis. Listen, this kid is super athletic but he’s just not ready to play NFL football yet. Yes, he can run a little but Dallas will stack the box all night long and beg Willis to beat them with a throw vs man coverage.
I don’t care how big the bonus is, Dak is going to crush this prop. Easy money.
Drake’s Take: Dak Prescott > Malik Willis (+7.5 bonus)
This game is REALLY hard to find appealing props for but how about this tight end showdown between Chig Okonkwo and Dalton Schultz.
While I’ve been ‘getting Chiggy with it’ in several home leagues I just can’t pull the trigger tonight. Even with Okonkwo getting four bonus points it’s not appealing. Dallas ranks 30th in points allowed to opposing tight ends. Chig is a fine athlete and all but this quarterback situation is just brutal.
Okonkwo last week didn’t even run 50% of the team routes. His target share was only 10% and Willis just isn’t good enough to find him, even in a trailing game script.
Schultz on the other hand is the safety net for Dak Prescott. While the last few weeks haven’t been league winners for fantasy I think tonight we see Schultz utilized on some play-action as the Titans will be biting up against the run. I’m calling a Schultz red zone touchdown tonight.
