Maybe betting on Andy Dalton on Monday Night Football wasn’t the best idea. Live and learn. Let’s move on to Thursday’s slate where the quarterback play is sure to be much better.
(Checks schedule) Good lord, it’s Marcus Mariota vs PJ Walker. What did we do to deserve this? Someone check on Al Michaels!
These two teams met just two weeks ago in Atlanta. The game ended with the Falcons winning in overtime 37-34.
I'm putting my 23-13 record on the line with my first prop those two QBs. Our friends at TopProp Fantasy are giving PJ Walker +4.5 bonus points! That’s huge. It basically looks to negate Mariota’s rushing upside. In the Week 8 encounter, he ran for 43 yards.
The weather tonight in Charlotte doesn’t appear to be ideal. The remnants of hurricane Nicole will be felt throughout this contest. Per WCNC in Charlotte, the winds will be 15-25 mph with occasional gusts up to 35. Heavy downpours are also being called for. Yuck.
This game could get ugly fast.
Atlanta has proven they don’t want to throw the football. The Falcons rank 30th in the NFL with 216 attempts.
With the weather that shouldn’t be an issue. This could be a ground-and-pound affair and actually, that benefits Mariota. Currently, the former Heisman winner is 7th in average yards rushing per game by a quarterback.
PJ Walker has a strong arm as we’ve seen with several highlight reel throws. Atlanta also… kind of sucks in the secondary. The Falcons have allowed the most passing yards in the league thus far. Their best corner AJ Terrell is also out tonight. But will the weather allow Walker to throw?
In their Week 8 showdown Walker threw for 317 yards and a score.
Often we see overreactions to weather in fantasy and it scares people off of good plays. Tonight I’m spitting in the wind (literally) and taking PJ Walker over Marcus Mariota
because of the bonus points.

Our next matchup is Falcons rookie Drake London (+2.5 bonus) vs Panthers stud DJ Moore.
If you listen to my radio show on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio every Sunday at 7 pm you’d know how many times the Atlanta wideout has landed on my “Hate the Drake” list. He’s let us down for damn near two months.
London hasn’t topped 55 yards or caught a touchdown since Week 3. It doesn’t help that his team is petrified to throw the football. Atlanta ranks 31st in dropbacks per PFF and plays at a snail’s pace, 31st in plays per minute.
Despite that his utilization numbers are great!
London owns an 89.5% route participation over the last month. He claims 28% of the team’s air yards also. The Falcons need to throw the ball more!
DJ Moore came back to life in Weeks 7-8 only to dud with a PPR finish of WR 49 last week.
I love the talent. I love the player. I just hate the QB situation.
The weather could impact the QBs ability to throw tonight.
This likely comes down can one of these guys gets into the end zone.
I’m betting on talent and to me, that is DJ Moore. Despite being down 2.5 bonus points I’m taking his prop tonight.
