Each week I’ll give my favorite selections on the Thursday and Monday night contests.
Let’s get started with Thursday night’s season kickoff between the Buffalo Bills and the World Champion Los Angeles Rams.
First up, Josh Allen vs Matthew Stafford who is getting a 5-point bonus in this matchup!
Buffalo is a 2-point favorite according to Draft Kings Sportsbook. The team total is 52 which is the third highest on the slate. Vegas expects points to be scored. The question is, which quarterback tallies the most?
When two teams are so evenly matched you look for edges. Matthew Stafford was 8th in fantasy points per game in 2021, mainly due to the fact he NEVER runs. Meanwhile, Allen was QB1 on the year and averaged nearly 25 points per game.
Giving Stafford five bonus points basically counteracts Josh Allen’s rushing upside. Allen ran for over 50 yards in seven games last season.
That said I’m still giving the nod to Josh Allen because of his chances of finding the endzone with his legs.

Next up we have to choose between Bills super stud wideout Stefon Diggs and last season’s WR1 Cooper Kupp.
These are two players who are likely going off the board in the first round of your fantasy football home league drafts.
While Diggs will have to contend with All-Pro Jalen Ramsey, Kupp won’t see Bills star Tre’Davious White who is on the PUP list.
I expect the Rams to move Kupp all over the field as they did last season to find favorable matchups vs a Bills defense that without White will play two rookies in heavy rotation.
Kupp was off the rails last year. He scored more than 15 fantasy points in a game eleven times! He bested the twenty-point mark on five occasions.
